The number one biggest mistake made by people taking the Government of Canada’s Public Service Entrance Exams (Test of Reasoning and Test of Judgment) is not studying or preparing hard enough in advance.

The Government of Canada’s Public Service Entrance Exam (PSEE371) is one of the most common tests administered to applicants for a wide range of officer-level jobs in the federal public service. The purpose of the test is to assess a candidate’s reasoning and judgment skills as they relate to the work of the public service. The results are used by hiring managers in making hiring decisions. Getting a great mark is your entry way into any number of interesting careers in the federal government.

When finding out that they are to write this exam, most people start with some basic internet searching. They come across the official sample questions for the Public Service Entrance Exam’s two sub-tests, the Test of Reasoning and the Test of Judgment. These sample questions are relatively easy, much more so than those on the actual tests. Most people thereby conclude that they don’t need to study for the tests.

Don’t be most people.
